Hark! Attend, good gentles and fair maidens! A grand spectacle awaits thee at the Gothic Area Renaissance Faire! Come, spend a sennight amidst enchantments and mirth, where players and performers weave a tapestry of delight. Valiant knights clash in tourney, their lances splintering with thunderous roars, whilst minstrels fill the air with lively tunes. From feats of strength to delicate artistry, there is sport and pleasure for all, be they highborn or humble.

Hark, traveler, and lend thine ear to a tale of revelry beneath the stars, a sojourn at the Shire's yearly Faire! Forsooth, 'tis not merely the joust and the jugglers that draw us, but the grand encampment, a village of tents sprung up like mushrooms after an autumn rain.
Imagine, if you will, a field bathed in the golden light of the setting sun, the air thick with the scent of woodsmoke and roasted meats. Silken pavilions, emblazoned with heraldic beasts, stand proudly alongside rough spun canvas tents, each a haven for weary adventurers. Within, flickering candlelight dances on rough-hewn tables laden with trenchers and flagons. The sounds of laughter and music drift through the air, mingling with the strumming of lutes and the booming of drums.
We pitched our own tent, a sturdy canvas dwelling, near the roaring fire pit – a central gathering point for all. There, bards spun tales of daring knights and mischievous faeries, their voices weaving magic into the night.
As the moon climbed high, casting long shadows across the field, the music softened, and conversations dwindled. Wrapped in woolen blankets, we lay upon beds of straw, the sounds of the night lulling us to sleep. The chirping of crickets and the distant hooting of an owl replaced the clamor of the day. Even in slumber, one felt transported to a bygone era, dreaming of gallant knights and fair maidens.
Come morn, we awoke to the crowing of cocks, the flowers of frost, and the tantalizing aroma of brewing coffee (a modern indulgence, I confess!). We broke our fast with hearty fare – oatcakes and honey, washed down with tankards of ale. Then, refreshed and invigorated, we donned our garb once more and rejoined the merry throng, ready for another day of feasting, frolicking, and fantastical delights. Thus is the joy of camping at the Faire, a taste of medieval life that lingers long after the tents are struck and the banners furled.

The King's Code
Hark, travelers, and heed these pronouncements as ye enter the Shire of Eldon!
- Leaveth thy thunder sticks beyond these gates, for they are unwelcome within the realm.
- Bags of great size, such as those carried upon the back, may be subject to inspection by our guardsmen.
- Beasts of burden and companions are welcome, but must be kept on a leash at all times and their humours in balance with proper potions and remedies.
- Only those of 18 years or older may bear arms within the Faire.
- Weapons must remain sheathed and peace-tied, with blades secured and bows unstrung, lest ye be escorted from the realm.
- Strong drink may not be brought within the gates but can be procured from our vendors for a fair price.
- Shirts and shoes are mandatory attire for all, regardless of station.
- Younglings must be attended to at all times, or they shall be tempted by sweets and a playful pup!
- Lost belongings may be found at the First Aid tent. Should your items remain unclaimed, send an owl to renfaireeldon@gmail.com.
- Unruly behavior and harassment will not be tolerated. Those who disrupt the peace will face swift justice and banishment from the realm.
